The Coaching Collective
The Coaching Collective - what is it, and why now?
Myself and three other Coaches from across Greater Manchester have come together to launch a new joint offer that enables coaching to be even more accessible to businesses across the North West.
Why am I doing this?
Last September, the shocking news about Thomas Cook going under hit the headlines. At that time I had a few friends and knew of others who worked for them, and I wondered what I could do to help. I recognised that on my own the impact I could have would be limited, so I contacted some other coaches in my network and three of us worked together to create an offering of free coaching and job application support.
We were able to do this by using our collective networks to ask for support from other coaches and HR professionals. The result was over 500 hours of coaching and job seeking support pledged within 48 hours! The buzz that myself and my fellow coaches got from being able to organise something so impactful, as well as being able to support directly with coaching ex Thomas Cook colleagues, was immense.
Fast forward 9 months and here we are again, in unprecedented times.
Luckily, those coaches I worked with back then have continued to collaborate, and have now been joined by a fourth. For the last few months we have been working on how we can offer our coaching skills to a wider audience, because we recognise and value the power of our collective. Despite this being a difficult time for all right now, not least those who are self employed, the timing of our working together is perfect.
We are in a position to offer our skills in a cost effective way.
We can support those organisation’s that recognise the value of coaching for their managers and senior leaders for their businesses. Individuals and companies who are able to get through these challenging times will be those that are able to manage the impact of the stress, are flexible and agile in their approach, and can approach challenges in a different way. Coaching can support leaders to do this more quickly and effectively than they would be able to on their own. Those that are able to do this will be better positioned to survive and thrive during this crisis. Being a collective of four coaches means that we are able to reach more people, offer more support to organisations who may have multiple leaders they wish to invest in, and can offer a more flexible suite of options to suit an organisations specific needs.
