Coaching Experience

  • Three-way contracting with Managing Partner to understand desired outcomes for coachee

  • Psychometric tool to understand preferences in behaviour and a 360 feedback to understand other’s perception of leadership style

  • Recognised that different people needed a different style of leadership from her

  • High felt pressure (self inflicted) to be constantly striving for the next success. Examined what was driving this and how it manifested itself

  • Discussed live situations that client felt less confident in tackling, and used coaching techniques to help her work through these situations for better outcomes

  • Established that it was not a lack of confidence in ability but how she is perceived by others. Used psychological tool to help her understand why this is

 

Coaching Outcomes

  1. Client is more relaxed in the workplace. Her drive to become partner still remains but is now less worried about timing, resulting in being seen as having a greater presence and impact

  2. Signed up to run a marathon! An ambitious goal but none work related

  3. Has been able to take a step back and make proposals to Managing Partners that are of benefit to the whole firm, not just herself

  4. Is more confident in having difficult conversations
